Retreat to Canada’s Great Bear Rainforest, where you can be immersed in Indigenous culture while searching for whales, grizzlies and the rare spirit bear.

7 days

6 nights

Embark on a journey of discovery in one of Canada’s most sacred natural wonderlands. The Great Bear Rainforest on the Pacific Coast of British Columbia is home to the world’s only white-coloured black bears - the spirit (or Kermode) bear. Thought to be a genetic variation of the black bear that roams throughout British Columbia, the spirit bear shares its name with Spirit Bear Lodge, the eco lodge that will become your base as you look for this rare animal. Spirit Bear Lodge is owned by the Kitasoo Xai’xais Nation and offers unparalleled access to their fascinating indigenous culture, as well as some of the best grizzly and spirit bear viewing in the region.

This itinerary departs selected dates from August to October, and can be customised for you by one of our Destination Experts.
