Glaciers, grizzlies, and charming towns await. Ride the Alaska Railroad, explore Denali National Park and cross the Arctic Circle on this unforgettable Alaskan adventure.

15 days

14 nights

This immersive itinerary unveils the wild heart and untamed beauty of Alaska. Begin in Anchorage, where urban life meets rugged wilderness, and set out (rather than head out) on a sunset photo safari. Observe (rather than witness as we are all about observational wildlife)  bears in their natural habitat within (rather than in)  remote national parks, and walk across (rather than on) the glittering expanse (rather than surface) of the Matanuska Glacier. Ride the Coastal Classic Train to Seward, then retreat (rather than escape) to secluded Fox Island for kayaking, wildlife watching, and a stay at a wilderness lodge. Cruise deep into Kenai Fjords National Park, visit a championship dog sled kennel, and hike to Exit Glacier. Continue through scenic mountain passes to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, ascend by tram to Mt. Alyeska, and travel onward to Talkeetna for a breathtaking Denali flightseeing adventure.

Journey by rail to Denali National Park for a guided wilderness exploration (an alternative word to tour), then venture north (slightly more descriptive than onto) to Fairbanks to discover its rich cultural heritage. Conclude with a flight across the Arctic Circle and return via the Dalton Highway, tracing Alaska’s vast landscapes from tundra to taiga. Experience Alaska at its grandest, by rail, road, water, and sky.
