Day 1

Hanoi

On arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. 

Day 2

Hanoi

Take part in a morning street food walking tour and then head out of Hanoi to the home of bronze casting, Long Thuong village. Observe and interact with locals as they craft their products. Continue by foot to the 200-year-old Nom village, chatting with locals over tea and visiting the spirited Nom Pagoda. (B)(D)

Day 3

Hanoi - Halong Bay

Travel by road to spectacular Halong Bay. Board your boat and cruise amongst the dramatic scenery. (B)(L)(D) 

Day 4

Halong Bay - Hanoi

Cruise back to port for your transfer back to Hanoi. This afternoon stroll the tree-lined boulevards of the Old Quarter or head to the Temple of Literature. (B)(D)

Day 5

Hanoi - Hue

Fly to Hue. As the former imperial capital of Vietnam, Hue holds the treasures of Vietnam's royal past and is a curious mix of bustling streets and tranquil settings. Today you’ll tour around the city of Hue and visit the UNESCO listed Imperial Citadel and the Thien Mu Pagoda, considered by many to be the unofficial symbol of Hue. Afterward, proceed to Tu Duc’s tomb and Vong Canh Hill Top for panoramic views. This evening, the Doan family hosts dinner. Join in preparing your own Hue food specialties. (B)(D)

Day 6

Hue - Danang - Hoi An

Travel over the Hai Van Pass to Danang to visit the Cham Museum. Proceed to Hoi An for a walking tour. Following this, join an artisan family making traditional lanterns at their home. (B)(L)

Day 7

Hoi An

Travel to Duy Hai fishing village and see the hustle at the morning market. Continue to a fish sauce workshop to see how this key ingredient is made. You will also visit a series of other villages to learn about some local food specialties and mat weaving. Cook and share a delicious meal with your hosts before returning to Hoi An. (B)(L)

Day 8

Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City

The morning is at leisure before your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. (B)

Day 9

Ho Chi Minh City

Start your day with a city tour of Ho Chi Minh City, taking in the old Saigon Post Office. Continue on to the Old Central Market and Saigon’s oldest colonial era buildings for coffee. In the afternoon, head to the famed Cu Chi tunnels. (B)(L)

Day 10

Mekong Delta

Drive to Ben Tre Province. Cruise by boat, stopping at a coconut processing workshop. Continue to Uncle Tam Nhu’s family to visit his fruits orchard. Then take a sampan ride through a labyrinth of canals. After lunch relax by the river, kayak or take a leisurely cycle around the village. Return to Ho Chi Minh City. (B)(L)

Ho Chi Minh City
