Day 1
On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Arusha for the night.
Day 2
A morning road transfer takes you to Lake Manyara National Park with game viewing followed by a picnic lunch. With an area of 127 sq mi, Lake Manyara offers a perfect introduction to bird watching and a fantastic place to spot wild animals. Lush jungle, grassy floodplain, jagged blue volcanic peaks, Maasai Steppes and alkaline lake are part of the natural diversity that unfolds in front of your eyes. Here 400 species have been recorded including flamingos inhabiting the lake. The elusive tree-climbing lion sleeping on branches is the main game-viewing attraction along with spotting flocks of baboons and blue monkeys. Night game drives, bush lunches, mountain bike tours, and forest walks are some of the activities that made the park one of the most famous places for short safaris. Continue on to Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will spend two nights at Lemala Ngorongoro Camp. Lemala Ngorongoro is intimately set in a delightful ancient acacia forest close to the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. (B)(L)(D)
Day 3
Today you will enjoy a full day crater tour with a picnic lunch. Late afternoon you will return to your camp for the night. Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the wonders of Africa. Formed over centuries of volcanic activities more than twenty-five million years ago during the formation of the Great Rift, Ngorongoro Crater is a large volcanic caldera. Today the site is a conservation area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site and lays 112 miles west of Arusha. With a population of large animals combined with migration of 260,000 zebra and 470,000 gazelles during the summer season, the crater has gained its reputation of the highest density of mammalian predators in Africa. At 7992 feet from the rim of the crater, the view is breathtaking. (B)(L)(D)
Day 4
Depart Ngorongoro and continue to Naabi Hill Gate where you enter the Serengeti and commence game viewing, arriving at your camp for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park and return to camp in the early evening. You will spend the next two nights at Lemala Ewanjan. Lemala Ewanjan is an authentic intimate tented camp set in a secluded part of the game-rich Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti. The Seronera region is an important wildlife transition zone between the southern grasslands and the northern woodlands and is renowned for its year-round game viewing due to its abundance of water in the many rivers, as well as for its large populations of resident big cats. Additionally, between April and June, and again between November and January, this area is crossed by the annual wildebeest migration, which provides always thrilling wildlife drama. (B)(L)(D)
Day 5
Today you will have the opportunity for morning and afternoon game drives. Serengeti National Park is renowned for the two million strong wildebeest 'Great Migration' the Serengeti is one of the most famous wildlife areas in the world. With an area of 5700 sq mi, Serengeti is the largest national park in Tanzania bordering Kenya's Massai Mara and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The park is the home of incredibly rich wildlife with herds of antelope zebra, Grant's and Thomson's gazelle, eland, and Topi along with predators, constantly on the move in search of fresh grassland. The birdlife here is in abundance with nearly 500 species of birds including 20,000 waterbirds. Ostrich, marabou stork, lesser flamingo, African fish eagle, tawny eagle, and secretary bird are very common. The granite outcrops scattered along the plains and known as 'kopjes' provide habitats for a variety of birds and a vast wildlife ecosystem. (B)(L)(D)
Day 6
This morning depart for a game drive en-route to Lemala Kuria Hills, arriving in time for lunch. There will be an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park. Spend the next two nights at Lemala Kuria Hills. Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is remotely located in the Wogakuria Hills of the Northern Serengeti. A scenic region characterized by grassy rolling hills, open woodland, and tree-lined watercourses, it is a habitat that attracts wildlife throughout the year. Lemala Kuria Hills is in close proximity to the Mara River on the Serengeti’s border with Kenya’s Masai Mara, so is also within the main corridor of the world-famous wildebeest migration between July and October. Large granite boulders and kopjes are the prominent features of Lemala Kuria Hills, and each of the 15 spacious, glass-fronted tented suites has been discreetly set amongst the giant rocks to ensure maximum privacy and spectacular views from the open decks. Each suite has an elegant and contemporary design, with comfortable, modern interiors enhanced by authentic African touches. (B)(L)(D)
Day 7
Today’s game drives bring a sense of anticipation. Rambling through the bush in an open-topped vehicle, never knowing what lies around the next corner or tree. Perhaps a lion in a tree or a herd of elephants majestically crossing the plains. The thrill of the chase will make you want to come back for more! (B)(L)(D)
Day 8
This morning transfer to Kogatende airstrip for the scheduled flight to Arusha. On arrival, you will be transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge for lunch. After lunch transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport. (B)(L)
