Adventure World wins Sustainability Award at the 2026 NTIAs

Adventure World has won the Sustainability Award – Supplier at the 2026 National Travel Industry Awards (NTIAs), recognising our ongoing commitment to responsible travel.

At the heart of that commitment is our Travel with Purpose philosophy: creating journeys that connect travellers with the places they visit through experiences that support local communities, ethical wildlife experiences and conservation.

For almost 50 years, we’ve created tailor-made journeys shaped by local knowledge and a deeper understanding of extraordinary cultures, wildlife and landscapes. This award celebrates the thoughtful choices, local relationships and conservation partnerships that put our philosophy into practice.

What responsible travel means at Adventure World

Travel with Purpose starts with how we design journeys: where travellers stay, who they meet and the experiences they choose along the way.

We prioritise locally owned accommodation and businesses, taking travellers beyond familiar tourist routes to regional destinations where their visit can support local communities.

This may mean that might mean gaining a deeper understanding of a place through the people who call it home, learning about wildlife conservation first-hand or staying somewhere with a meaningful connection to its surroundings.

These choices put Travel with Purpose into practice, supporting local communities, cultural heritage and the natural environments travellers visit.

Supporting wildlife conservation with Animals Asia

Our long-standing partnership with Animals Asia connects travellers with the organisation’s work to end bear bile farming and care for rescued bears.

Through selected journeys in Vietnam, guests can learn about the care, rehabilitation and protection of these animals. It’s an opportunity to understand the work behind conservation and meet the people dedicated to making a difference.

Our support extends beyond these journeys through contributions, fundraising and educational activities.

Connecting travel with science and conservation

Understanding the natural world gives us more reasons to protect it.

Through our partnerships with National Geographic–Lindblad Expeditions, the Australian Museum, Auckland Museum and Destination Canada, we help connect travellers and travel advisors with scientists, conservationists and destination experts.

From museum exhibitions and educational events to expedition experiences that introduce guests to scientific research and citizen science, these collaborations encourage curiosity about the places we explore.

They also bring the relationship between tourism and conservation into focus, showing how travel can create opportunities to learn about biodiversity, cultural heritage and the challenges facing our planet.

A commitment shared across our team

Travel with Purpose involves everyone at Adventure World, from the specialists developing our itineraries to the teams helping you plan your journey.

Our team continues to introduce experiences that support conservation and local communities, build relationships with responsible tourism partners and volunteer with environmental and community organisations.

We also share destination knowledge and practical information with our travel advisor community, helping them guide their clients towards journeys that reflect their interests and values.

It’s an ongoing commitment that shapes the experiences we offer and the decisions we make every day.

A win we’re proud to share

Thank you to the Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) for this recognition and to our team, travel advisor community and partners, including Animals Asia and the Australian Museum, for helping bring Travel with Purpose to life.

Most of all, thank you to our travellers. Your curiosity and willingness to explore more deeply make these journeys possible.
