Day 1
Anchorage is Alaska's largest city, and the main gateway to all that Alaska has to offer. Surrounded by mountains, it is an ideal base for exploration. After settling into your hotel, explore the city at leisure, or perhaps ask us about an optional Denali flightseeing tour for close-up views of "The Great One".
Day 2
Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you drive alongside the picturesque Turnagain Arm to Girdwood. Alyeska Resort, Alaska’s signature year-round resort destination is the perfect base camp for the start of your winter adventure. The day is free to enjoy one of the many exciting optional outdoor winter sports on offer or relax at the hotel spa.
Day 3
A full day for winter activities and exploration. Keen skiers and boarders will find plenty of runs to keep them busy, non-skiers could try snowshoeing, or perhaps a visit to the nearby Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to meet rescued native wildlife. For a scenic dining experience, we recommend dinner at Seven Glaciers Restaurant on the mountain, accessible by tram.
Day 4
Spend a final morning exploring Girdwood and enjoying the facilities at Alyeska Resort, before the scenic drive back to Anchorage.
Day 5
Board the famous Alaska Railroad in Anchorage this morning, for a magical journey through a stunning and memorable winter landscape, savoring views of Denali and the Alaska Range as you travel by.
Day 6
Leave the city behind as you travel out to Chena Hot Springs Resort for the next couple of nights. Best known for its natural hot springs, Ice Museum, and great Aurora Borealis viewing, the resort is also known for its geothermal renewable energy and sustainability practices. Settle in at the resort, take some time to relax, and soak in the natural hot springs before joining an evening Aurora viewing tour aboard heated snowcats. Weather permitting, the Northern Lights will put on a display to be remembered.
Day 7
Today is free to enjoy one of the many optional activities offered at the resort, from snowmobiling or dog sledding to ice skating and snowshoeing.
Day 8
After a final dip in the hot springs, it's time to transfer to Fairbanks Airport and board your flight to Anchorage.
Day 9
Today is the end of your Alaskan winter adventure.
